StartOut and Lowenstein Sandler are pleased to invite you to one of our favorite events of the year “Meet The Angels”, featuring active angel investors in the NY area who invest in companies in their early stages. The evening will start with a discussion on the latest trends in Angel investing (for example – did you know that Angels invest in more than 50 times as many early stage companies as VC’s?) then Q&A with angel investors, followed by startup pitches and a networking reception. We are excited to have a fantastic panel of Angel Investors joining us for this special event!

Panelists:

Ed Zimmerman – Moderator

Ed is a venture lawyer. He represents start-ups and growth companies in raising money, selling the company or cashing out the founders, and depending on market conditions, public offerings. He puts his money where his mouth is (he’s angel invested in more than 30 companies and invested as an LP in several venture funds). One of his VC clients called the companies Ed likes to help “tinkertoy internet companies” (as opposed to heavy core tech and drug discovery companies) and that suits Ed fine. Digital media, e-commerce, social media, fin tech, SaaS, cloud/virtualization, enterprise software and adtech are, apparently, all tinkertoys

Paul Grossingner

Paul is a technology entrepreneur, early-stage venture capitalist, and seed-stage angel investor. He pipelines companies, advise them, and invests in their growth. He is the Founder of the Gaingels Syndicate, Blue Jay Syndicate, and an investor in 44 startup companies and 5 funds. Gaingels is the world’s first syndicate backing companies with at least one LGBT founder and Blue Jay is the first syndicate backing companies with a founder affiliated with the Johns Hopkins University. Collectively, his portfolio companies have a total value above $2,000,000,000.

Daphne Kis

Daphne is a leader in global technology, venture and entrepreneurial circles with nearly thirty years of expertise taking early stage entrepreneurial ideas through many phases of raising capital, business development, and clarifying and executing on strategy. With a solid track record of successful implementations, she combines high-level strategic thinking about industry trends with extensive operational experience. She brings thought leadership and innovative thinking to the early-stage companies, corporate projects and non-profits with which she works as a consultant, investor, equity advisor, and board director. She is also a Managing Director of Golden Seeds. Our two additional investor panel members will be announced shortly.

Tiffany Roesler

Tiffany is the President of ISPOSSIBLE IN TECH, a technology staffing firm based in NYC with a satellite office in Chicago. Roesler is passionate about transforming and scaling technology organizations. She is viewed as a collaborative and respected partner to senior leadership for sound judgment. She is also the founder of ISPOSSIBLE WOMEN WHO ROCK which is a monthly meetup designed to foster community for women in tech with the mission to increase the number of women leaders in tech by inspiring and celebrating women in tech who are rocking! In February 2015, Roesler made her first Angel Investment in; HER the most popular dating app for lesbian and queer women. She soon after invested in Quantified Care, which helps healthcare organizations manage gaps in patient care through a mobile engagement platform. In July of 2015, with her business partners she formed a dedicated vehicle for investing and advising called As One. Their first investment is in Teckst; which is incredible, textable technology.
